Cultural Achievments

          The college is committed to quality education not only in academic sphere but in cultural activities also. College has touched the heights of glory in cultural field. It is champion in Zonal youth festival of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar consecutively for two years. Our young budding stars have performed excellently well on Doordarshan Kendra Jalandhar. They brought laurels at state level and National level. They took part in 38 competitions and won 33 positions. They took part in Inter Zonal level youth festival also, they bagged 6 positions. They have also participated in Inter Versity Level Youth Festival held at Kurukeshtra.

  •         Annual Fete 2009, was organized in the college on 12th Jan, 2009. Different stalls were the main attraction of the Fete. A colorful cultural show was also staged by the students. Students and staff collected more than two lacs and two lacs were given by Sh. Jagdish Sahni, Parliament Secretary, Punjab.

  •        Youth welfare deptt of our college organized North East cultural festival in collaboration with North Zone culture center & Heritage society Gurdaspur. The participating states were Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland & Sikkim. These dances depicted the picture of different cultures. Sh. Neelkand (D.C. Gurdaspur) was the Chief Guest. In his lecture he praised the valuable attempts of cultural exchange programme of Govt. of India.

  • ·       To inculcate cultural values among students, Youth Welfare Deptt. Organized Lohri function. Sh. Jagdish Sahni, parliament secretary was the chief gust and Sh. Vijay Shayar, Deputy Director Doordarshan Kendra Jallandhar was the Guest of Honour of the day. Raffle draw was the main attraction & prizes were given to winners of the Draw.

  • ·       Youth Welfare deptt organized Odissi dance programme in colabration with Distt Heritage society Gurdaspur. In which Mrs Rina Jana, an odissi dancer from Calcutta had given her performance. While performing she depicted various pictures of Lord Krishna & Vishnu.

Basant Panchmi was also organized by YWD deptt. World famous folk singer ‘ Mrs. Gurmeet Bawa’ was the Chief Guest & Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director YWD deptt. GNDU Amritsar was the Guest of Honour.
