Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar is the pioneer postgraduate multi faculty women college in this border and backward area with approximately 2200 students, 75 teachers and 35 members of non-teaching staff. College is running 34 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including degrees and diplomas, with a Distance education center & vocational courses having twin degree programmes (10 career oriented courses) with regular degree courses given by UGC. The college is providing teaching in the subjects related to faculties of Arts, Commerce, Science. The subjects taught includes English, Punjabi, Hindi, Sanskrit, Political Science, Music, Economics, Computer Science, Home Science, Sociology, Fine arts, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Fashion Designing, Computer application, Office Management at degree level. In addition we are also conducting P.G. diploma courses in Dress designing, Fashion Designing, Stitching & tailoring, Computer application. In addition we are running M.A in Hindi, Punjabi, Pol. Science, English, M.Sc Computer Science, M.Sc(Fashion Technology), M.Sc(I.T), BCA/BIT/BBA/B.Com(Prof), B.Sc(Bio-technology), B.Sc(Fashion Designing) also.

           UGC has given ten Add on courses in Communication skill, Apparel Design, Cosmetology, Taxation, Data Management, I.T & Multimedia, Bio-informatics, Travel & Tourism and E-commerce, Bio-technology. The college has a dedicated team of 75 well qualified and meritorious teachers with 12 Ph. D, 22 M.Phil and 14 MCA/M.Tech/B.Tech degree holders and other Postgraduates are NET qualified.

            This institution is proud in showing excellent results with limited resources in a poor area. Academically it has more than 75 students in merit list 2009, 17 students are among top 10 students of the university. Miss Rukmani was honored by Governor of Punjab on GNDU Convocation in this year.
